Frequently asked questions

Sensilight RPL™ (Reactive Pulsed Light) technology is based on clinically proven IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology. The difference is that RPL™ features a combination of unique sensors that constantly monitor your skin to ensure your comfort and safety. If the sensors detect that the skin in the treatment area is too dark, or that contact between the device and the skin has been broken, no flash will be emitted.

Unlike laser technology which can be painful, RPL™ is pain free. It works by emitting multiple wavelengths covering a large area while lasers emit just one beam of pure light to pinpoint a very small area.

We do not recommend using the device on tan, deep, dark skin tones, and fair, blonde, white, grey, or red hair, as the results may be poor and/or take much longer to get the desired results.

No need to do anything special but just remember to start your treatment on clean, shaven skin and no waxing or suntanning within a few weeks before your first treatment or in between treatments.

Not at all. When used correctly, the Sensilight Yang just creates a warm sensation on the treated area.

It may take up to 3-4 treatments before results can be seen. As you progress through the full treatment protocol, hair will naturally and gradually fall out. How soon this happens will vary between users, depending on factors such as age, hair color and the stage of hair growth during which the treatment is performed.

You should not use Sensilight Yang directly over tattooed skin, moles, freckles or beauty marks. During treatment, simply cover these areas with white surgical tape or a white cloth to make sure they are not exposed to flashes from the device. For a full list of safety warnings, please read the Instructions for Use.

Your safety is of utmost importance to us. We advise that people to whom any of the following apply do NOT use Sensilight Yang: if you are pregnant or nursing; if you have skin cancer, epilepsy, severe or decompensated diabetes, broken skin/herpes or psoriasis. See Instructions for Use for more information.
